ASRock Updates CPU Support List with AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D and 9900X3D Processors

ASRock has recently made updates to its CPU Support List to include the upcoming AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D and 9900X3D desktop processors. These new entries require motherboard BIOS versions 3.15 and 3.16. ASRock appears to be the first company to list these "Zen 5" models on their public-facing motherboard compatibility databases. Other major manufacturers such as MSI, GIGABYTE, and ASUS have not yet followed suit, as reported by VideoCardz yesterday.

The introduction of Team Red's "Granite Ridge" 16-core and 12-core 3D V-Cache-equipped processors on ASRock's website has sparked discussions within PC hardware communities.

AMD has not officially announced a specific release date or pricing details for the Ryzen 9 9950X3D and 9900X3D CPUs. However, industry experts have noted a potential launch window in March. The recent update to ASRock's database suggests that the launch may be imminent. While some insiders initially predicted a January release, it is unlikely to happen by the end of this week.

With the Ryzen 7 9800X3D gaming processor already in high demand, the addition of these new options will be welcomed by many users. Team Red has hinted that the new chips will offer similar gaming performance to the current champion, albeit at a potentially higher price point.
