The development team at HWiNFO is preparing for the upcoming launch of a new NVIDIA upper mid-range GPU codenamed "Blackwell." Their popular system diagnostics tool will soon be updated to support the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti (GB203-based) graphics card models. This week, NVIDIA released their flagship and sub-flagship SKUs to the market, but with mixed results. Industry experts predict that there will be stock shortages for several months after the release. Due to volatile retail conditions, potential buyers of next-gen graphics technology may need to consider options lower down in NVIDIA's product lineup. The GeForce RTX 5070 Ti (priced at $749 MSRP, with no Founders Edition) and the GeForce RTX 5070 (priced at $549 MSRP) could serve as attractive alternatives, either temporarily or permanently. Reports suggest that a product launch is scheduled for February 20.
The upcoming 8.21 build of HWiNFO will include support for GeForce RTX 5070 Ti graphics cards, but interestingly, the GeForce RTX 5070 (non-Ti) GPU is not mentioned in the list of upcoming changes. An investigative report by VideoCardz indicates that HWiNFO is the first software to publicly announce support for NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, which features 8,960 CUDA cores. The GeForce RTX 5070 Ti is based on the GB203 GPU, also found in its larger sibling, the RTX 5080. While the RTX 5080 fully utilizes the silicon with 84 SM, the RTX 5070 Ti has 70 out of 84 SM enabled, resulting in 8,960 CUDA cores, 280 Tensor cores, 70 RT cores, 280 TMUs, and an unspecified number of ROPs. It comes with 16 GB of memory across a 256-bit GDDR7 memory interface and has a TGP of 300 W, lower than the RTX 5080's 360 W.
