Khadas Mind 2s Mini PC

Khadas Mind 2s Mini PC

Khadas is a well-known name in the world of mini PCs, offering a unique approach. Instead of relying on eGPUs and docks for expansion, the Khadas utilizes a base compute unit called the "Mind", which can dock with expansion units and eGPUs using the 'Mind Link' interface. This provides up to eight PCIe 5.0 lanes, offering a maximum bandwidth of 256 GT/s.

The Mind 2s was recently announced at CES and is now available for purchase at a price of $1,599. Currently, there is only one variant available, and it is uncertain if there will be higher- or lower-tier variants in the future.

The Mind 2s is equipped with a Core Ultra 7 255H Arrow Lake-H CPU and 64 GB of LPDDR5X memory. While the memory is not upgradeable, the storage can be expanded using the M.2 2230 slot. The system features a Thunderbolt 4 port, USB4 port, HDMI 2.1 port, and dual USB 3.2 ports.

Additional expansion options are available through the Mind Link interface. The Khadas Mind Dock provides extra I/O, while the Khadas Mind Graphics eGPU enhances graphics performance. The upcoming Mind xPlay module will serve as a portable external display for the Mind unit. The Mind 2s also includes a 5.55 Wh built-in battery, allowing the system to go into sleep mode during power cuts.
