Intel Launches New Xeon 6 Processors
Enterprises are upgrading their infrastructure to meet the demands of next-gen workloads like AI. High-performing and efficient compute is crucial across data centers, networks, edge, and PCs. To tackle these challenges, Intel has introduced its Xeon 6 processors with Performance-cores (P-cores). These processors offer industry-leading performance for a wide range of data center and network infrastructure workloads, along with top-notch efficiency for exceptional server consolidation opportunities.
"We are dedicated to delivering cutting-edge products that address our customers' biggest challenges and drive business growth," said Michelle Johnston Holthaus, interim co-CEO of Intel and CEO of Intel Products. "The Xeon 6 family provides the best CPU for AI and innovative features for networking, while also enhancing efficiency and reducing total cost of ownership."
Introducing New Intel Xeon 6 Processors
Intel's latest Xeon 6 processors bring significant advancements to data center and networking portfolios.
The Intel Xeon 6700/6500 series processor with P-cores is designed for modern data centers, offering a balance between performance and energy efficiency. It delivers 1.4x better performance than the previous generation across various enterprise workloads. The Xeon 6 is also the foundational CPU for AI systems, providing exceptional performance when paired with a GPU. Compared to 5th Generation AMD EPYC processors, Xeon 6 offers up to 1.5x better performance in AI inference using fewer cores. Additionally, Xeon 6 processors enable significant performance-per-watt efficiency, allowing for server consolidation and up to 68% savings in total cost of ownership.
The Intel Xeon 6 for network and edge is a system-on-chip (SoC) designed for high performance and power efficiency. It leverages Intel's accelerators for virtualized radio access networks (vRAN), media, AI, and network security. Xeon 6 SoCs deliver increased RAN capacity and improved performance-per-watt compared to previous generations.
The World's Best CPU for AI
As AI adoption grows, Intel Xeon 6 is optimized to capture a significant share of the market. It delivers leadership performance in traditional machine learning, GenAI models, and GPU-accelerated workloads. Intel is collaborating with partners to enable the AI ecosystem, positioning Xeon 6 as the preferred CPU for AI systems.
Leadership Performance for Modern Telecommunications Networks
With 5G and AI transforming connectivity, telecom operators are adopting technologies like network slicing and AI-powered controllers. Intel's Xeon platform enables operators to optimize workloads, reduce costs, and build scalable networks that adapt to changing demands.
New Advanced Ethernet Solutions
Intel has introduced new Ethernet controller and network adapter product lines to meet the demands of various applications. These adapters offer high bandwidth, port configurations, and precision time capabilities for virtualized workloads, security, and performance.
The combination of Intel Xeon 6 processors and high-performance Ethernet connectivity provides a strong foundation for businesses to innovate and stay competitive.
Broad OEM Partner and Ecosystem Adoption
Intel Xeon 6 processors have been widely adopted across the data center ecosystem, with over 500 designs available. Leading companies like AT&T, Verizon, Cisco, Dell Technologies, and others are offering server systems, software solutions, and services based on Intel's Xeon 6 processors.
