Since June of last year, Samsung's 9100 Pro SSD has been on our radar. However, it seems that Samsung India has jumped the gun and released a press release prematurely about what we can only assume is an upcoming product launch. The 9100 Pro is a PCIe 5.0 NVMe SSD, available in 1, 2, and 4 TB capacities initially. Samsung is also reportedly planning to introduce an 8 TB SKU, a first for its Pro series of SSDs. The SKUs will be offered with or without a heatsink, with the 1 to 4 TB versions featuring an 8.8 mm thick heatsink, while the 8 TB model will come with an 11.25 mm thick heatsink.

Unfortunately, Samsung India only provided sequential performance numbers, revealing read speeds of up to 14,800 MB/s and write speeds of up to 13,400 MB/s, which are not significantly different from existing market offerings. The press release also mentioned random read performance of 2,200K IOPS and random write performance of 2,600K IOPS. Pricing details were only available in Indian rupees, with the 1 TB SKU priced at 14,999 INR (approximately US$172 including 18 percent VAT), the 2 TB SKU at 25,499 INR (around US$293), and the 4 TB SKU at 49,999 INR (approximately US$573). The pricing for the 8 TB SKU was not disclosed.
