A previously inactive member of the Chiphell discussion board in China has returned with a significant leak from GALAX; claiming to own a pre-release GeForce RTX 5090D HOF OC LAB edition graphics card. The AIB based in Hong Kong did not release its "Hall of Fame" series with the top NVIDIA "Blackwell" GPU silicon in time for last month's launch. Instead, their highest-end offering was the GeForce RTX 5080 HOF OC LAB Plus-X SKU, said to be an over-specced powerhouse. Recent reports suggest that GALAX is working on their top candidate for the GeForce RTX 5090D, with early details hinting at an impressive feature set. Known for their selective approach, industry experts believe that GALAX's upcoming flagship will use only the best pre-binned GB202 GPU dies and GDDR7 memory modules.

Despite using top-tier components, the fortunate owner of the card reported issues with their supposedly high-quality card: "this time the overclocking process was more challenging. The bracket and backplate of the graphics card had to be redone. But it's finally complete. I won't say more. I'm going to fill it with liquid nitrogen." VideoCardz suggests that GALAX has sent preview units to local overclocking experts without the final air-cooled solutions attached. As revealed by the Chiphell member (laoshu1919), early testers seem to be experimenting with liquid cooling. A photo of GALAX's GeForce RTX 5090D HOF OC LAB PCB design was shared on the forum, showcasing a total of 38 high-quality power phases. The GPU die is surrounded by 26 of these units, with 10 closer to the VRAM. Another 2 are positioned near a single 16-pin power connector, with space for two more. Based on laoshu1919's photo, it appears that this prototype can accommodate an additional 16-pin power connector. The sample likely features GALAX's signature "1-Click OC" button on the I/O bracket.
