NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Founders Edition Review

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Founders Edition Review

We have recently released our detailed assessment of the latest NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Founders Edition (FE) GPU, priced at $550 MSRP. The initial batch of GeForce RTX 5070 GPUs is set to launch tomorrow with designs from AIB partners, while NVIDIA has announced that its special FE card will be available in late March. AIB designs will be available on March 5, but NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 5070 FE GPU will hit shelves a few weeks later. With an MSRP of $550, the GeForce RTX 5070 offers a $50 discount compared to the RTX 4070, making it a great value proposition for its ray tracing, DLSS 4, and efficiency improvements.

The GeForce RTX 5070 features 6,144 enabled cores, compared to 8,960 on the RTX 5070 Ti. Other unit counts have been adjusted accordingly, with 80 ROPs, 192 TMUs, and 48 RT cores. The memory subsystem utilizes GDDR7, like other RTX 50 series cards, but offers 12 GB VRAM with a 192-bit wide memory bus clocked at 28 Gbps. While the FE card's MSRP is known, AIB partners are expected to price their custom designs at a 20-40% premium. The availability of these cards at NVIDIA's partner retail outlets and the supply allocated to AIB partners is yet to be seen, and scalpers may drive prices higher if initial supply is limited. Inet AB, a Swedish retailer, has warned customers about potential stock shortages, but this has not been confirmed by other retailers.
