Sapphire's Return to the Mini-PC Market
It appears that Sapphire is reentering the Mini-PC consumer market, as revealed by ComputerBase at the Embedded World 2025 event. At the event, Sapphire unveiled engineering samples of its new Edge AI mini-PC family. These compact computing solutions are powered by the latest AMD Ryzen AI 300 series processors. The lineup includes two models: the Edge AI 340 and 350, equipped with AMD Ryzen AI 5 340 and Ryzen AI 7 350 processors, respectively. The Edge AI 340 comes with 16 GB of RAM, while the Edge AI 350 offers 32 GB, both supporting impressive 5,600 MT/s memory speeds through two SO-DIMM slots. Additionally, a more powerful model featuring the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor will also be released.
Despite their small size of 117 × 111 × 30 mm (with a regular external adapter for power supply), the Sapphire Edge AI series provides a wide range of connectivity options. These mini-PCs feature two HDMI 2.1 ports, two USB4.0 ports, 2.5 GbE LAN, Wi-Fi with Bluetooth, and two additional USB ports. In terms of storage, there is a standard 2280 M.2 slot for SSDs, along with another 2242 slot. Accessing internal components is simple, as no tools are required thanks to the magnetic case-cover used by Sapphire. This allows easy access to the SO-DIMM slots and storage areas. Sapphire has announced that these mini-PCs will be available in stores worldwide by late April, although pricing details have not been disclosed yet. It is worth noting that some regions may receive different configurations or bare-bones versions without pre-installed RAM and storage.
