The ASUS ROG Astral RTX 5090 OC Edition, considered "astronomically expensive," is a highly sought-after item with a launch MSRP of $2800. Retailers have driven the price beyond $3000. A more luxurious golden variant, known as the "Dhahab" model, was recently introduced as a regional exclusive for MENA (Middle-East and North Africa). This week, ASUS surprised everyone by sending a gold-encrusted sample to San Francisco, California.
Ernest Cheng, the Director of Marketing at ASUS's North American branch, shared a photo of the unique ROG Astral RTX 5090 Dhahab OC Edition model on LinkedIn. The card was autographed by Jensen Huang during GTC 2025. Cheng commented on the significance of this blessing, stating, "A graphics card is one of a kind when it's been anointed. But it says a lot more when it's a Golden ROG RTX 5090 Astral." It is speculated that this special item will be auctioned off for charity, with Jensen Huang's autograph and slogan ("RTX ON!") significantly increasing its value. A Jensen Huang-signed ROG MATRIX RTX 4090 PLATINUM card previously fetched a top bid of $16,000, with Der8auer (Roman Hartung) being the winner in late 2023.
Update 18:02 UTC: ASUS has confirmed that they will be supporting a local charity by auctioning off the special edition ROG Astral RTX 5090 Dhahab OC graphics card, signed by NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang. The proceeds will go towards relief efforts for the California wildfires in Los Angeles.
