Cooler Master's Latest GeForce RTX 5080 Design Unveiled
Cooler Master (CM) recently showcased their custom designs for the GeForce RTX 50-series graphics cards at CES 2025. These impressive components were initially advertised as part of high-end pre-built gaming rigs. Now, months later, the finalized CM GeForce RTX 5080 stock has been released in China, as highlighted in a blog post on Bilibili by user 51972.
The blog post featured a variety of photos showcasing the new design, along with the user's observations while experimenting with the modular air cooling solution of the sample unit. The user mentioned receiving a suggestion to replace the cooling system with a MasterFan or Mobius, which they tried out. Upon disassembling the unit, they discovered that Cooler Master's designers had included screw limit holes at different heights, allowing for customization.
Further exploration led to the user successfully installing a (Phanteks) T30 fan, although the overall thickness of the card increased to a substantial 9 cm. This innovative design from Cooler Master stands out when compared to competitors, especially when configured with third-party options.
Comparisons were made to other high-end graphics cards, such as the ASUS ROG Astral RTX 5080 and MSI's GeForce RTX 5080 SUPRIM cards. While Cooler Master's design offers unique features, it is currently only available within pre-built gaming rigs. However, there is hope among PC hardware enthusiasts for a standalone retail release in the future.
Key features of Cooler Master's custom GeForce RTX 5080 design include a large metal frame, a substantial heatsink cooled by three 120 mm fans, and the option for RGB or non-RGB variants. The design also includes a solid metal backplate, five display outputs, and a single 16-pin power connector for power.
