Throughout the years, there have been numerous instances of product information being leaked on websites before their official release. A similar situation seems to have occurred with Lenovo's Malaysian site, where details of the upcoming ThinkPad P14s Gen 6 have been revealed. This new model will be powered by the high-performance 12-core Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 APU. The leaked specifications indicate that the P14s will be capable of supporting up to an impressive 96 GB of DDR5-5600 memory, although this feature will only be available on the lower-end Ryzen AI 7 PRO 350 and Ryzen AI 5 PRO 340 variants.
Compared to the previous version of the ThinkPad P14s, which featured AMD's Ryzen 7 8840HS APU, the new highest-end variant with the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 is expected to deliver significantly faster performance in both single-core and multicore tasks. The Radeon 890M iGPU included in this model will also offer better performance than the 780M, although the difference may not be drastic. Like its predecessor, the Gen 6 will come with a 2.8K 120 Hz OLED display, boasting a higher peak brightness of 500 nits and full coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut.
In terms of connectivity, the ThinkPad P14s Gen 6 will feature a range of ports, including dual Thunderbolt 4 (with DisplayPort 1.4), HDMI 2.1, Ethernet, dual USB-A, optional nano sim and smart card reader, as well as a headphone jack. This comprehensive port selection is in line with the expectations for a ThinkPad model.
