NVIDIA Launches GeForce RTX 5050 Gaming GPU
NVIDIA has officially introduced the GeForce RTX 5050 mid-range gaming GPU for both desktops and laptops. The desktop version of the GeForce RTX 5050 graphics card will have a starting price of $249, while laptops equipped with RTX 5050 discrete GPUs are expected to start at around $999. Both versions are set to be available in the second half of July 2025, although NVIDIA has not specified an exact release date. The RTX 5050 is specifically designed for 1080p AAA gaming with medium to high settings, and features DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation to enhance performance.
The desktop GeForce RTX 5050 is powered by the "GB207" silicon, utilizing all 20 SM units on the chip to offer 2,560 CUDA cores, 80 Tensor cores, 20 RT cores, 80 TMUs, and an unspecified ROP count. The GPU has a base clock speed of 2.31 GHz and a boost clock speed of 2.57 GHz. It is equipped with 8 GB of GDDR6 memory across a 128-bit wide memory bus, although the memory speed has not been specified by the company. The card has a 130 W TGP, allowing AIC partners to include either 6-pin or 8-pin PCIe power connectors. Additionally, the GeForce RTX 5050 comes with the latest NVENC and NVDEC video accelerators, as well as the newest display engine.
