MSI Unveils Dual-CUDIMM Platform for High-Capacity DDR5 Memory at CES 2026
At CES 2026, MSI introduced a groundbreaking dual-CUDIMM platform designed to deliver exceptional memory capacity in a compact motherboard form factor. This innovative approach allows users to achieve up to 256 GB of DDR5 memory using just two 128 GB CUDIMMs, all powered by the latest Intel Core Ultra 200S series processors. The platform, currently under development, will join the MSI MEG family and is engineered to support four-rank CUDIMMs. According to MSI, these modules provide up to 63% higher overclocking performance compared to conventional memory solutions.
The key to this performance boost lies in the streamlined design, which utilizes only two memory DIMM slots. By reducing the number of memory traces, MSI minimizes signal cross talk between DDR5 lanes, resulting in more stable and higher overclocking potential. This design not only maximizes memory bandwidth but also ensures reliable communication between the CPU and memory modules.
Collaboration with ADATA for Advanced DDR5 CUDIMMs
MSI has partnered with ADATA to test advanced four-rank DDR5 CUDIMMs, enabling each module to reach an impressive 128 GB capacity. These CUDIMMs are engineered for both high capacity and superior overclocking capabilities, outperforming standard non-clock driven DDR5 DIMMs. While MSI has not yet announced a specific release date, the company plans to launch these dual-CUDIMM motherboards once memory prices stabilize and final optimizations are complete. This will allow users to benefit from high-speed, large-capacity memory configurations ideal for demanding computing tasks.
Expanding High-Performance Memory to AMD Platforms
MSI is also extending its high-capacity memory innovations to AMD-based motherboards. The UNIFY-X X870E, for example, features two DIMM slots optimized for extreme memory overclocking on an AMD platform. This finalized motherboard boasts an 18+2+1 phase, 110 A dual rail SPS power delivery system, and is constructed on a robust server-grade eight-layer PCB. These features ensure stable power delivery and enhanced durability, catering to enthusiasts and professionals seeking top-tier performance.
With these advancements, MSI is setting new standards for high-capacity, high-performance DDR5 memory platforms, offering both Intel and AMD users the ability to harness large memory capacities without compromising on speed or stability.
