Introducing the SilverStone FARA 314: A Modern Take on Classic microATX Tower Design

SilverStone has unveiled the FARA 314, a microATX tower case that blends a timeless chassis layout with support for both legacy storage devices and today’s high-performance graphics cards. This new case stands out by reviving the classic microATX tower design, featuring a power supply unit (PSU) bay positioned above the motherboard tray—a configuration reminiscent of cases from two decades ago.

Versatile Storage and Expansion Options

The FARA 314 is equipped with a modular drive cage, offering two 5.25-inch bays for optical drives or other legacy devices, three 3.5-inch bays for traditional hard drives, and one 2.5-inch bay for SSDs. Additional mounting points include a 2.5-inch SSD mount along the motherboard tray and a 3.5-inch drive mount on the bottom panel, providing flexibility for a variety of storage configurations.

Optimized Cooling and Component Compatibility

For cooling, the SilverStone FARA 314 supports a 120 mm front intake fan and a 120 mm rear exhaust fan. The case allows for a single 120 mm radiator to be mounted at the rear exhaust position, catering to users who prefer compact liquid cooling solutions. Inside, the motherboard tray accommodates graphics cards up to 354 mm in length and CPU coolers up to 156 mm in height. SilverStone recommends using power supplies no longer than 140 mm to ensure sufficient space for cable management.

Modern Connectivity and Durable Construction

The front panel of the FARA 314 is equipped with a high-speed USB 3.2 Type-C port supporting 20 Gbps data transfer, two USB 3.2 Type-A ports, and a 4-pole headset jack for audio and microphone connectivity. The case measures 181 mm in width, 360 mm in height, and 410 mm in depth, with a dry weight of 4 kg. Constructed primarily from SECC steel, the FARA 314 offers both durability and a classic aesthetic. SilverStone has not yet announced pricing details for this model.
