Thermalright, a brand renowned for its high-performance cooling solutions and DIY PC components, has introduced the AI HydroNous R1—a compact 2.6-liter mini PC engineered for demanding workloads. This new system is powered by AMD’s advanced Strix Halo Ryzen AI Max+ 395 APU, delivering impressive processing and AI capabilities in a remarkably small form factor.
Innovative Cooling with Custom Closed-Loop Water System
One of the standout features of the HydroNous R1 is its custom closed-loop water cooling system. Designed to handle up to 176 watts of thermal design power (TDP), the system utilizes a 180 mm radiator to efficiently dissipate heat, ensuring stable performance even under heavy loads. This level of cooling is rarely seen in mini PCs, making the HydroNous R1 a unique offering for enthusiasts and professionals who require both power and reliability in a compact chassis.
Premium CNC-Machined Aluminum Chassis and Advanced Monitoring

Connectivity and Design
According to details shared by IT Home, the mini PC includes dual USB4 ports and 10 Gb Ethernet, catering to high-speed data transfer and networking needs. The HydroNous R1 is designed for vertical orientation, drawing cool air from the bottom and left side, and expelling warm air through the right side panel where the radiator is mounted. At present, the Thermalright AI HydroNous R1 has been officially revealed in China, but there is no confirmation regarding its availability in other markets.
