ASUS Unveils ProArt GeForce RTX 5090 OC Edition for Creators and Compact PCs
ASUS has expanded its ProArt series with the introduction of the ProArt GeForce RTX 5090 OC Edition, a graphics card tailored for creators and professionals who value both performance and aesthetics. Designed specifically for small form factor (SFF) systems, this latest GPU combines advanced cooling technology with a refined, minimalist look.
Premium Design Meets Efficient Cooling
The ProArt RTX 5090 OC Edition stands out with its signature black and gold color scheme, complemented by a unique wood-patterned laminate trim along the curved edge visible through the PC case. The card features a compact 2.5-slot shroud and a dual-fan setup, making it ideal for SFF builds without compromising on cooling performance.
ASUS has equipped the GPU with a vapor chamber and dual heat sinks, enabling efficient flow-through cooling. Hot air is expelled through vents on both the side and back of the card, ensuring optimal thermal management even in compact enclosures. According to ASUS, this innovative cooler design improves cooling efficiency by 11% and reduces the card’s overall size by up to 27% compared to similar models lacking the double flow-through system.
For added reliability, the ProArt RTX 5090 OC Edition uses liquid metal for cooling and features a conformal coating on the PCB. This protective layer helps safeguard the card against potential liquid metal leaks and high humidity environments, enhancing durability and longevity.
Advanced Features and Connectivity
The ProArt RTX 5090 OC Edition is built on the NVIDIA Founder's Edition PCB, utilizing the same angled 12V-2x6 power connector and fully complying with the GeForce SFF-Ready specification. This ensures compatibility with a wide range of compact PC cases and power supplies.
Connectivity options include a single HDMI 2.1b port, two DisplayPort 2.1b ports, and a USB Type-C port, supporting up to four displays for versatile multi-monitor setups. The GPU operates at a base clock of 2482 MHz, with an OC Mode that boosts performance up to 2512 MHz.
Users can easily switch between Performance and Quiet modes using a hardware switch on the shroud. Both modes maintain the same power and frequency targets, but Quiet mode features a less aggressive fan curve to minimize noise. For further customization, the card is compatible with ASUS GPU Tweak III software, allowing users to fine-tune fan curves, power targets, and clock speeds through an intuitive graphical interface.
Pricing and Availability
While official US pricing has yet to be announced, the ProArt RTX 5090 OC Edition is currently listed on Geizhals at €3,505.89 (approximately $4,115.21 USD). This positions the card as a premium option for professionals seeking top-tier performance and design in a compact form factor.
