Intel Unveils 14th Gen Core CPUs and New Z790 Motherboards
Intel has officially announced its 14th Gen Core CPUs, providing users with enhanced processors for gaming, content creation, and everyday tasks. The company has also introduced seven new Z790 motherboards to complement the latest Intel Core CPUs. These motherboards include the ROG Maximus Z790 Dark Hero, ROG Maximus Z790 Apex Encore, ROG Maximus Z790 Formula, three new models in the ROG Strix lineup, and the TUF Gaming Z790-Pro WiFi.
The new Z790 motherboards offer a range of features, including WiFi 7 support, onboard PCIe 5.0 M.2 slots, DIMM Flex technology, and user-friendly DIY features. The ROG Maximus Z790 Dark Hero, in particular, stands out with its sleek design and advanced features such as Thunderbolt 4 connectors, ROG SupremeFX audio, and USB 20 Gbps connector with Quick Charge 4+ support.
The ROG Maximus Z790 Apex Encore is designed for overclocking and features a 20+1+2 teamed power stage topology, ample M.2 support, and the inclusion of the ROG DDR5 Fan Kit for optimal memory cooling. The ROG Maximus Z790 Formula offers a white-themed design, Thunderbolt 4 ports, WiFi 7, and a 5 Gb Ethernet port.
The ROG Strix Z790-E Gaming WiFi II and ROG Strix Z790-F Gaming WiFi II are part of the ROG Strix series, offering PCIe 5.0 x16 slots, onboard PCIe 5.0 M.2 slots, robust power solutions, and WiFi 7 support. The ROG Strix Z790-F Gaming WiFi II is a more affordable option without the PCIe 5.0 M.2 slot and some other features.
The ROG Strix Z790-A Gaming WiFi II features a white and silver design, five M.2 slots with built-in heatsinks, 12 USB ports, and enhanced VRM cooling. Lastly, the TUF Gaming Z790-Pro WiFi offers AI Overclocking, USB 20 Gbps Type-C connector, and WiFi 6E connectivity with the ASUS WiFi Q-Antenna.
Additionally, ASUS has released the ROG Maximus Z790 Hero EVA-02 Edition, inspired by the anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion. This motherboard features a unique design with EVA-02's colors and themes.
