ASUS Introduces GeForce RTX 4070 Turbo Graphics Card

ASUS has unveiled the GeForce RTX 4070 Turbo, a high-performance graphics card designed for environments with limited airflow, such as AI processing boxes. This card is compact, measuring only 2 slots thick and 11.1 cm in height, making it suitable for addon cards. It is also 26.9 cm long and does not have a backplate, allowing for better ventilation for neighboring cards. The power connector, an 8-pin PCIe, is located at the tail end of the card for additional clearance.

Internally, the ASUS Turbo RTX 4070 features a copper base-plate that transfers heat to an aluminum channel stack. This stack is ventilated by a lateral blower, which has a high endurance dual ball-bearing. The RTX 4070 GPU operates at NVIDIA reference specifications, including a boost frequency of 2475 MHz and a GDDR6X memory speed of 21 Gbps. It has 12 GB of memory across a 192-bit memory bus. The card also includes two SMD switches: the "Turbo" switch overrides software fan control, keeping the fan at 100% speed, and the VM_SW switch toggles between "Quiet" and "Performance" modes. It is unclear whether this switch uses a dual-BIOS mechanism or is a physical toggle for ASUS GPU Tweak software. Pricing details have not been released by ASUS.
